Dear Ayndie,
I had some friends over for dinner the other day. In conversation, one told me in passing that he frequently threw his aluminum cans in the trash and did not bother to recycle them. We got into a heated argument, and now he and his wife won’t return my phone calls. Now I feel bad. Maybe I overreacted, and should apologize?
You pitiful moron. You should not only apologize to this man, a true hero of Objectivism and champion of the Individual — but moreover you should find the nearest, grimiest, sootiest smokestack and bow down before it, kissing its foundation. The false and evil teachings of “ecology” not only condemns cities, culture, industry, technology, and the intellect, it willfully advocates man’s return to the state of a grunting subanimal digging the soil with his bare hands.
The struggle between the Individual and the Collective has recently been forced to give room to an evil so nasty as to almost become unconceivable: Ecology — the conscious indifference towards man and the replacement of moral with “nature”.
Your (i hope) ex-friends are right in purging you, and my only regret is that they chose such tacit a way of doing so, for you deserve to be deafeningly scorn and chastised for all to see.
Resistance is futile,
Ayndie.
